Portrait of a Poppy | Fine Art Botanicals

My two photography portfolio classes have come to close for this Spring.  I taught 30 fine art botanic students searching for their own artistic voice at Chicago Botanic Garden.  It was a challenge for me to quiet myself enough from the fast paced wedding world to the silent subjects of nature.  This year especially it felt like a big jolt to my creative mind to shift and shoot in the quiet. For the first time ever, Chicago Botanic Garden is hosting a Student Photography Exhibition to show off the talent of my students. I am so excited!   Opening night is July 1 from 6-8pm with refreshments.  Eric and I will be there that evening if you'd like to come!  Please come and see what my students can do!

For those of you following this blog, you may remember my Portrait of a Ranunculus. Throughout this Spring season I have been shooting various flower species in a similar fashion with detail to the bottom of the flower supported by color and lines.

This is a Portrait of a Poppy.
