Susan & Robert | Vintage Wedding in Chicago

Every Saturday this wedding season has had rain or so it seems to this wedding photographer. This small wedding was early on a Saturday morning with only their closest family and friends. As it was time for the intimate ceremony, the black clouds rolled in and pushed us all inside. Rain or no rain these two were happily married while everyone celebrated with them. We sneaked away for a few minutes with the newlyweds. All the amazing florals by the always amazing Kelly of Fleur! Remember their Winter Engagement at Longman & Eagle?

After their intimate morning ceremony they met up at The Stan Mansion for a huge party with all their friends!! Come back tomorrow for a hilarious photo booth. ( no really. think desert landscape)

Megan & Jacob | Engagement Photography in Montrose Harbor

This is one of my favorite engagement sessions Eric and I have shot together. From the moment I met Megan she's trusted our photographic style. I knew when she walked into the studio with stacks of photo booth film strips of the two of them, this was going to be good.... real good. We spent the evening with Megan & Jacob at Montrose Harbor. It is a gem of a location that holds so many Midwestern backdrops. We spent time in the protected prairie filled with yellow and white wildflowers and then strolled out to the evening lake. We chatted about their Michigan wedding coming right up and Eric & Jacob got into talking code and application geeky - ness. It was a fun evening indeed.

And..... I love her red dress, like I want one.

Glorious green space co-existing with urban texture is one of my very favorite things about Chicago. Lauren and Joe's engagement session shows off just how fabulous Chicago is in the summer! We strolled around Harrison Park in the culturally rich Pilsen neighborhood. These two are both artists and were so easy to chat with and docuement. They are getting married this September on the east coast! Congrats to you both!

Kathy + Jason Engaged! | Creative Chicago Engagement Photography

As you may or may not know... Eric has entered wholeheartedly into the home brew world and has been producing some pretty tasty beverages. When we discovered a shared love of home brew with Kathy and Jason, we knew we'd be a great match. All this year we have been pushing our clients to truly be themselves for their engagement shoot and to think out of the box. We have been asking, " What is it that you two love to do together?". This one question usually produced answers such as, hiking, tasting wine, reading at home, playing music and much more. We love love love writing the story of your everyday, so let us!! This was casual, low maintenance but so very touching to be in a couple's home capturing how they are in the day to day. We love this shoot and the biggest reason is the real raw glimpse into Kathy & Jason. ( and all their cuteness)

Ashley + Philip Married! | Miami Destination Wedding Photography| Part 2

Ashley + Philip Married! | Miami Destination Wedding Photography | Part 1

Only a week ago we were soaking up as much sun as possible and enjoying a warm weekend with these two. You may remember their dreamy lakeside engagement shoot last summer here in Chicago. We were thrilled when Ashley and Phil decided on a destination wedding. Leave Chicago for Miami in Januray? YES PLEASE! Ashley and Phil were so ready to be married. They were both filled to the brim and bubbling over with excitement. Not about the event, or the party, or even their beloved friends and family but about one another. It was a special kind of love. It was fresh, comfortable, protective, beautiful and such a joy to be around. I'm not one to gush normally, but it was such a beautiful beautiful day.

Also, can I just say that Ashley was the queen of accessories complete with killer shoes, vintage hat, sparkly jewelry and killer red lips. Both her and Phil were an amazing blend of vintage and classic.

Ashley's bridesmaids were all so sweet and clearly love her dearly. I love this shot of her best ladies gathered around her and helping her with the final touches. There is nothing in the world like your girlfriends.

Windy stormy ocean = photography bliss.

We did not have the time we wanted at the beach and literally went running when we felt the first few rain drops. We traded in a stormy beach for beautiful for lush tropical green next door to their ceremony site an ancient Spanish Monastery. ( saving that for tomorrow! )
